“We report on tailoring the magnetization reversal mechanism in engineered permalloy antidot nanostructures by lithographically introducing inhomogeneities in the form Evofosfamide order of neighboring
antidots with alternate dimensions. We observed that the magnetic domain configurations are significantly altered when compared to homogeneous antidots due to the dissimilar size of adjacent antidots. The reversal process also is strongly influenced by the relative difference in the size of adjacent antidots and the thickness of the permalloy film. Our results have been further corroborated by micromagnetic simulations and low temperature measurements. (C) 2011 American Institute of Physics. [doi:10.1063/1.3537948]“
“We present the neuropsychological and linguistic follow-up of a girl with bilateral perisylvian polymicrogyria during 4 years of gestural and verbal speech therapy. Some researchers have suggested that children with bilateral perisylvian polymicrogyria mentally fail to reach the syntactic phase and do not acquire a productive morphology. This patient achieved a mean length of utterance in signs/gestures of 3.4, a syntactic phase of completion of the nuclear sentence and the use of morphological modifications. We discuss
the link between gesture and language and formulate hypotheses on the role of gestural input on the reorganization of compensatory synaptic circuits.”
“Fe81-xCoxGa19 (with x ranging from 0 to 19 at.% Co) films with thicknesses of about 110 nm were deposited on Si(100) substrates by the dc magnetron sputtering method. The structures of these films at HDAC inhibitor drugs room temperature (RT) were analyzed by x-ray diffraction. Magnetic
hysteresis loops of each film were measured from room temperature (RT) to 800 degrees C, and their saturation magnetization (4 pi M-S) and coercivity (H-C) were plotted as a function of temperature (T). Saturation magnetostriction (lambda(S)) at RT was also measured. The substitution of Co for Fe would give rise to increases in H-C and lambda(S). In terms of high temperature magnetic properties, Apoptosis Compound Library (A) we find that for each film, there is one low-temperature-phase Curie point (T-C1) and one high-temperature-phase Curie point (T-C2); (B) based on the temperature dependence of 4 pi M-S, we calculated the reduced hyperbolic Bessel function (I) over cap (5/2)(T); from the relationship lambda(S)(T) = (I) over cap (5/2)(T) x lambda(S)(RT), we can compare the performances of lambda S(T) at higher temperatures; and (C) H-C decreases slightly as T increases initially, but it reaches a maximum when either T-C1 or T-C2 is approached. It is concluded that the Fe62Co19Ga19 film has the optimal high-temperature magnetic properties, including a larger lambda(S)(T), higher T-C1, and moderate H-C(T).
